Intense Pulse Light (IPL)
Intense pulsed light (IPL) is a non-laser technology that uses high-intensity light to treat a variety of skin conditions:
- Skin treatments: IPL can improve skin texture and tone, and treat pigmented lesions, vascular lesions, and unwanted hair.
- Acne: IPL can help alleviate acne.
IPL works by emitting a broad spectrum of light with each pulse, which allows it to treat multiple skin imperfections at once. The light is absorbed by hemoglobin, which transforms it into heat. This can destroy abnormal blood vessels and reduce inflammation.
IPL is generally safe, but it's not suitable for everyone. People who are pregnant, on blood thinners, or have certain skin conditions should avoid IPL.
"For best results, a series of treatments depending on your skin condition is recommended."
